MicroLaser Peel

What is MicroLaser Peel

A MicroLaser Peel removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture andprovide a more youthful appearance. It provides superior results because it can be administered with great precision of depth and be adjusted to fit your needs.

How dose MicroLaser Peel work?

The MicroLaser Peel’s beam is scanned over a treatment are to remove a thin layer of your skin.  Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look.  As the skin heal, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier looking skin, with reduced wrinkles and improved color evenness. Patients often say that it looks like their skin went from looking tired to vibrant.

What conditions can be treated with MicroLaser Peel?

  • Wrinkles
  • Scars
  • Keratosis
  • Sun damage
  • Pigment irregularities

What areas of the body can be treated?

Most skin areas can be treated. Popular treatment areas are the face, neck and chest.  Arms, hands and other body areas can be treated as well.

How many treatments will I need?

Excellent results can be obtained with just one treatment.  More than one treatment can be done to maximize results.  Dr. Parsons can personalize a plan based on your specific needs and may choose to combine MicroLaser Peel with other aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.

What will happen during the procedure?

Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment room and your eyes will be protected with safety shields.  A topical numbing cream will be applied to your skin to improve your comfort during the treatment. Dr. Parsons will position the laser above your skin and the area will be scanned. The procedure usually lasts 20 minutes. With the topical anesthetic the discomfort is acceptable to most all patients.

What should I expect immediately after the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment you will feel like you’ve had a sunburn. This will subside over the next few hours. There will also be mild swelling. Dr. Parsons will recommend that you use a protective barrier cream such as vaseline or aquaphor and avoid the elements such as strong sun, wind or cold exposure. Within the next few days the swelling and redness will subside and you may begin to use your regular skin care products to include sunscreen and makeup. Depending on the depth of the treatment, most patients feel comfortable to return to work within 3 to 4 days.

When will I expect to see results?

Most patients notice an obvious improvement in tone, texture and color evenness once the skin heals in 3-4 days.
